Honor The Earth: Annie Humphrey + David Huckfelt – Huber Mill Town Hall

June 1, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

$12 – $15

Honor the Earth’s mission is to create awareness and support for Native environmental issues and to develop needed financial and political resources for the survival of sustainable Native communities. Honor the Earth develops these resources by using music, the arts, the media, and Indigenous wisdom to ask people to recognize our joint dependency on the Earth and be a voice for those not heard.

Growing up on the Leech Lake Indian Reservation in Northern Minnesota, Annie Humphrey lived in a home filled with voices made of thunder and nothing could stop it. Her parents were brilliant people individually. Her father, a singer and musician and her mother an artist and poet. Together they made sadness. Each of her parents taught Annie the beautiful things they knew. They showed her that she carried their gifts in her hands too. This is how creating art and music came about for her. This is what saved her. This is how she lives now.

Annie will be joined by longtime friend David Huckfelt, a singer-songwriter, activist and international touring folk musician with two solo records & several releases with his acclaimed band The Pines. He is a frequent collaborator with Indigenous artists and leaders including Winona LaDuke, Keith Secola, Annie Humphrey and the late John Trudell.

Tickets are a $10 donation but no one will be turned away at the door.
